A Little About Me

I was born, raised, and still live in Mobile, Alabama. I graduated with an advanced degree with honors from Murphy High School in 1999. I graduated with a bachelor of science degree with a major in elementary education from the University of South Alabama in 2005. I am currently pursuing a masters degree in elementary education from South Alabama and plan to graduate in December of 2008. In fact, this website was a requirement of one of my graduate courses. This is my fourth year of teaching an inclusion first grade class at W.D. Robbins Elementary School in Prichard. I love my job even though it can be trying at times. I especially love my students- both the little angels and devils. The wonderful thing about first grade is that I can see my students grow- from sometimes only knowing a few sounds to reading a passage that contains forty words in sixty seconds. Wow! What an accomplishment for a six or seven year old.

My family is also from Mobile. My mother is retired and my step dad just started his new job of teaching history at Eans Middle School. I have one brother, Bill Mullen, who is a policeman for Mobile County. He is also the Grandmaster of his freemason lodge. I have been married to my soul mate, Shawn, for over a year now. He is also from Mobile and works as a lab technician for Caleb Brett Intertec. In the summer of 2007 we had a house built in Theodore. We absolutely love our new home and life together.

Free time is rare for me. When I do have spare time I enjoy reading, cooking, shopping, watching movies, and being outside. My favorite place in the world to be is at the beach.
